Jessica Naz has joined the England squad for the second Nations League match against Belgium. The Spurs forward was initially not called up, despite having been in recent squads. However, she is now going to replace Lauren James, who picked up a hamstring injury in yesterday's 5-0 victory over the same opponents at Ashton Gate.
James has headed back to her club for treatment. Chelsea and England fans will hope it's not too serious, given her importance to both side.
Check out the highlights to yesterday's game below:
The 24-player England squad has now returned to St. George's Park. They will fly to Belgium tomorrow ahead of their next Group C match.
The callup is a huge opportunity for Naz as teh domestic season comes to an end. She will no doubt have been disappointed to have been left out of Sarina Wiegman's original group as Euro 2025 approaches. Like many Tottenham Women's players she had had a frustrating season. The forward has only scored once and provided one assist in 19 WSL match so far this season. With just four left, she is going to have to work really hard to be on that plane to Switzerland.
Elsewhere in north London, Arsenal's Chloe Kelly has left the Lionesses due to a foot injury. Brighton's Fran Kirby and Arsenal's Beth Mead recently joined the squad. Man City's Jess Park has also come into form. She scored once again yesterday after coming on as a sub. It all adds to the competition in the position Jess Naz plays.
Belgium vs England kicks-off at 7.45pm BST on Tuesday, April 8. You can watch it and see how Jess Naz does for free on ITV4 and ITVX. Brits abroad can use a VPN like NordVPN to access the service as usual.
