Jess Naz has been left out of the latest Lionesses squad. Sarina Wiegman had been picking her in recent times, but she will not be part of the upcoming Nations League double-header against Belgium.
There is no doubt that Naz is a skilful, talented player. However, the Spurs forward has only scored once in the 2024/25 WSL, making it hard to justify another international call-up. At the moment she and Martha Thomas rather personify the trouble their side is having putting the ball in the net.
Brighton midfielder Maisie Symonds has been given a first senior call-up after impressing with the U23 squad. Her club teammate Fran Kirby and Arsenal's Beth Mead return after injury, taking the attacking spots Naz might have had.
With Euro 2025 looming, Jess Naz will be hoping to end the season strong and show Wiegman she should be part of the group that heads out to Switzerland. However, she is in something of a race against time and struggling in a team not playing well.
