Robert Vilahamn Diplomatic on Bethany's England Snub

Tottenham Women's manager Robert Vilahamn was asked about Sarina Wiegman once again leaving in-form Bethany England out of the Lionesses squad. He said that it's "Sarina's choice, and she she knows what she want to have to her squads."

Vilahamn added: "She didn't pick Bethany, but if she keeps having the performances she have had, of course you're going to knock on the door to try to get back into the squad."

He was typically diplomatic, saying: "I also have enormous respect for the national team coaches that's going to pick and choose players."

Pushed further, the Spurs boss said: "I also know how [Wiegman] look at how she plays. They don't play the same way that we do in all occasions, but her choices, of picking players you need to ask her about."

Spurs skipper England is the joint second highest goalscorer in the WSL heading into tomorrow's fixtures, yet remains absent from the Lionesses. England is also a key influence off the pitch. Earlier this week, she spoke to local politicians and helped secure the approval for a new Tottenham Women's training centre and academy.

Jess Naz on "Journey"

England's teammate Jess Naz has been called up again, despite not always putting in top performance Vilahalmn said "that perhaps she haven't been maximum performing in all games, but she getting the trust to get back in the game with the potential and what she brings to the table as well... What Jessica Naz is doing is she's on a journey where she becomes a top, top national team player soon, but she need to go through this journey which she has ups and downs."
