Tottenham Hotspur Women confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Lize Kop on Wednesday. The 26-year-old has joined from Leicester City on a deal that runs until June 2028. She gets the number one shirt.
From Wormer in the Netherlands, Kop progressed through the Ajax system and played for the Dutch giants over 100 times, including in the Champions League. She featured 13 times in all competitions for Leicester City last season, including in the FA Cup semi-final at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium.
On the international stage, Lize Kop has 13 caps for the Netherlands. She was part of the 2023 World Cup squad that got to the quarter-finals.
There has long been concern about who is between the sticks at Spurs Women. This looks to be a good signing and an upgrade on the current option.
